| As you can see, Lil Bit is pretty in pink and purple as she had her wraps
changed today. Dr. Throm is very impressed at the rate she is healing. She
still has a long way to go but she's making progress. All of the staple sites looked
very neat and tidy. There was only one site on her right leg that looked a little
weepy. Dr. Throm was worried that this site might slough off tissue. He said
in some cases, they need to take staples out, remove tissue, and restaple but so far, he
doesn't think he'll need to do that. He made the wrap much smaller on her right leg
and the size of the leg and paw are almost normal. the paw on the broken leg still
looks large but it's also getting better. The worse part of her broken leg was
rescrubbed to remove dried blood and redressed with a pink heart added to her wrap. She's eating and drinking well. She's very interested in what's going on and even stood briefly on the futon so she could look out the window. She's even trying to nest with her cast which I try to discourage. I gave her a light weight blanket that she can toss around a few times and then I tell her to stop. I want her to get on doing some normal dog behaviors within reason. I asked about putting her in a wagon. He said that would be alright as long as she can't get out. He said that they tried to transport her around the clinic on a stretcher and while drugged, she would have nothing to do with it. So, whatever we come up with has to be deep enough and secure so she can't get out. We do have a deep two-wheel wheelbarrow that we might try out tomorrow. Lil Bit sends her love to everyone until the next update. |
